"We've been taking our pets to Morris Veterinary Hospital for around 10 years, first with our cat Chase and now with our dog, Rubble. Rubble has been seeing Dr. Morris and Dr. Bates since he was just 9 weeks old, and now he's almost 7 years old.Rubble is very nervous around new people and can become reactive with strangers, so finding a veterinary team that understands him has meant everything to us.
From the moment we walk through the door, everyone at Morris Vet treats him with patience, kindness, and compassion. They always make both us and Rubble feel comfortable and never rush him.Most dogs don't enjoy going to the vet, but aside from being at home, Morris Vet is honestly Rubble's favorite place to go! That says so much about the incredible care and trust they've built with him over the years. We are so grateful to Dr. Morris, Dr. Bates, and the entire team for always going above and beyond. We wouldn't trust anyone else with our pets.

"There are simply not enough words to express how grateful we are for Morris Veterinary Clinic. For many years, and especially over the past two, they have stood beside the Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes through some of our most challenging and rewarding moments.
Every member of their team treats our shelter animals with the same compassion, patience, and dedication they would their own. They don't just provide veterinary care, they become part of each animal's journey.
A very special thank you goes to Cassie. No matter the day or time, she is always there when we need advice, support, or help coordinating care. Knowing we have someone we can count on has made an immeasurable difference, not only for our staff but for every animal whose life depends on timely medical care.
One story that will always stay with us is Koi. She was found as a stray, suffering from a life-threatening pyometra. Without hesitation, the team at Morris Veterinary Clinic stepped in and gave her the emergency care she so desperately needed. But what makes this story truly remarkable is what happened next. Dr. Bates welcomed Koi into his own home to foster her while she recovered, giving her the time, comfort, and love she needed to heal. Before long, Koi found a wonderful forever family. She went from fighting for her life to living the life every animal deserves.
Behind so many happy endings are the people at Morris Veterinary Clinic, whose compassion, expertise, and willingness to go above and beyond have helped us through some of our most difficult cases and given countless animals a second chance. "I adopted a senior cat from Humane Society of Kawartha lakes and Morris Veterinary Hospital was who they recommended I go with. Shortly after adopting the cat, it was found she had diabetes.
Both Dr. Morris and Dr. Bates were so supportive through the huge transition of learning how to care for a pet that required insulin twice a day. Years later, I had to make the difficult decision to say goodbye to the cat as she developed further health issues and I cannot express enough how kind and compassionate Dr. Morris was during that process. No one ever wants to have that experience and Dr. Morris made it the best he possibly could have on that day and through the last weeks. During her final moments it even seemed Dr. Morris shed a tear, he truly loves our pets.
We now have 2 dogs and Dr. Morris and Dr. Bates continue to be amazing partners in their care. There have been instances that they make last minute time for me as things come up, I never feel like I am pressured into things. I have a dog that likes to give a good lick to the face when getting her heart checked and the reactions she gets (even when she gets glasses) demonstrate the love these vets have for our pets.
There are so many corporately owned Vets that a local vet is becoming harder and harder to find. I don’t feel like a customer with Morris Veterinary Hospital I feel like they are partners in my pets’ care."

Most recently, the team has been incredible in helping me care for my dog, Pepper, after he was diagnosed with diabetes and blindness. "Our cockapoo named Buddy has been seeing Dr Morris & associates for 14yrs. Buddy has always received excellent care. He has had both rear knees operated on in the past & recovered well.
About a year or so ago Buddy was having heart issues & Dr Morris consulted with other professionals including an anaesthesiologist & a teaching veterinary hospital in PEI.
Dr. Morris was able to treat Buddy’s heart condition with success. I have found Dr.Morris empathetic and the cost of care reasonable. I would recommend Morris Veterinary Hospital to my friends and family."

"I have been bringing my dog to Morris Veterinary Hospital for 2 years now, and after every visit we are always so happy. The team is great!
We have a large mastiff who drools everywhere but the staff couldn’t care less, they always greet our dog with open arms and genuine kindness. He loves the vets and the front desk staff. Dr. Bates is very knowledgable, and really great with all animals.

"I took my fur baby Millie to Morris Vet as my husband has taken his fur babies here for 10+ years. My girl had previously been taken to another vet for an emergency and was told she had Cushing.
Took her to Morris and they properly diagnosed her. My girl was in her geriatric years and started to go down hill with her kidneys and back leg function and doggy dementia. Dr Morris and team provided the UTMOST respectful and compassionate care for my girl and doing what’s best for her to make her comfortable. They made it possible to get an extra couple years with my girl I got when I was 12 and she was able to make it to my wedding day at 29.
Without their incredible compassionate care she would have not made it to my wedding, or comfortably. They also were there during her transition over the rainbow but treated us with the most compassion I could not thank the team more for everything they did for my Millie Girl. And what they continue to do for our new kittens.

"I can't say enough good things about Morris Veterinary Hospital. One day I came home from work and noticed that my dog Betty's left eye had suddenly become cloudy.
I called Morris Vet and they were able to get her in right away. We initially saw Dr. Morris and then Dr. Bates, and both were incredibly compassionate and knowledgeable. Dr. Bates quickly recognized the seriousness of Betty's condition and referred us to an ophthalmologist in Toronto. Unfortunately, Betty had already lost vision in the eye, and because the pressure was extremely high, it had to be removed.
Since then, Dr. Bates has continued to provide exceptional care and has been supportive throughout Betty's recovery. I highly recommend Morris Veterinary Hospital to anyone looking for a compassionate and skilled veterinary team."
